2nd Wicca Spell [Action]

[ For most of the day, Willow's killing time before the big meeting. For the beginning and middle parts of the day, Willow is cooking. Yes, House 7 smells of food today. Early in the morning, she gets up to cook breakfast, pancakes - and she's totally taking orders from anyone who's actually up with her - and omelets if you guys are lucky. Any shape, any flavor. She might be looking pensive while she cooks, too. She misses Tara.

Later in the day, she's making a homemade soup. Little on the spicy side, but not terribly so. And she's still doing it all by hand. No magic at all. Not even to get the water hot. Feel free to run into her at either time or both. She's examining her journal while the soup's cooking, sitting at the kitchen table, so totally open to being disturbed.


Between cooking times, she'll make a pit stop in the library just to look around. Needs to kill time between cooking and the meeting. She's nervous about what Giles might have to tell her regarding the magic and her addiction at home. Everything's different here and she's very preoccupied. Chances are she might run into someone or walk right by them without noticing. ]

Nope, nothing at all. Very much nothing.

[ .... ] I was just trying to keep busy before the big meeting.

[Giles relaxes, just a bit. It's not the end of the world, at least]

Yes, so was I. [He holds up a book] Can't fault you there.

[ She hesitates for a moment and then motions at a chair on the opposite end of the table. ]

You don't mind if I, y'know, sit down here?

Not at all.

[He sets the book aside] I've learned more or less everything there is to know about the spirits. At this point, it's just a way of keeping myself occupied. And, to some degree, beating my head against the wall.

[ She takes the offered seat and looks over what he's been reading, though she doesn't touch anything on the table. ]

Anything interesting? I-I feel like I need to just keep moving or I'll think too much today.

Nothing new, no. I think I've hit the point where "theory" has to become "practice". Other than that, I've been in the history section.

[slayersidekick]

S-so I guess, practice and tell me how it goes. [ she looks a little like she's avoiding the subject, and latches onto the history idea. ] Anything interesting, y'know, in the history section? Good old Earth history or other dimensions?

[consultmybooks]

I'll practice, tell you how it goes, and then it will be your turn to practice. [Giles is not going to let her avoid this subject, not entirely] Up to a point, of course. I don't think I'll be able to learn properly from all the spirits.

There is a good deal on Earth, and on other dimensions. The works on other worlds have been mostly what's held my attention. Information on anything outside Earth is sorely lacking back home.

Right. Practice. Of course. [ Well, at least she's willing. ] Then I'll just, y'know, try the ones I can and tell you how they go. [ As long as he's nearby when she does. ]

Oh. W-well, I guess it could be interesting to figure out what makes other dimensions tick, too.

Yes. I never thought we'd have to deal with other dimensions much, apart from whatever made it over to Sunnydale. That's one area where most of my research and my knowledge is thin. Now that I've been proven summarily wrong, I'll learn what I can.

But I'm mostly just keeping busy, as well.

Lot more dimensions than we thought existed, aren't there? [ It's a tad bit overwhelming to her. All these people and most of them from vastly different places than anything her imagination could come up with. ]

Y-yeah, me, too. Not that keeping busy is the only reason I would ever visit a library. You know me. I love a good book.

Yes, I forgot that that's not just us. It's normally fairly crowded in here.

But it's quiet.

I'll just make it more crowded! Can't be a bad place if bookloving people stay here. [ Her eyes wander up towards the shelves. And then she sighs softly. ]

A lot quieter than Sunnydale ever was, library included.

Yes, it is. This whole place is quieter on the whole then I remember Sunnydale ever being.

If I could get used to the wings, I could feasibly get a full night's sleep, here. I'm not entirely sure what to do about that.

[slayersidekick]

[ She shrugs. ] You could always try not getting a full night's sleep or patrolling o-or something more Sunnydale normal? A-at least then it'd be more normal than this.

I think I could do with some Sunnydale normal. Of the non-Hellmouth variety, of course.

Maybe patrolling. I-If Buffy's all right with it, of course.

It's not like we'd be taking over! Just helping a little! A-and making sure we're more normal. Y'know, like things aren't as good as they seem, only I like things being as good as they seem.
