[It's early morning when Willow finally wakes up, blinking the sleep from her eyes. It takes her a few minutes to realize she's not in bed at Buffy's house, like she was last night when she fell asleep. Had she actually fallen asleep or had she dozed off for a little? The pile of clothes next to her says she merely dozed off before bed, but she can't imagine why she'd be wearing such a... weird hospital-type gown if she'd merely "dozed off." Then again, she has no idea why she wouldn't be in bed, either.

She sits up and looks around. The fountain is at her back - and it's a pretty one, too - but she's more than certain she's never seen it before in her life. What on earth is going on around here?

Something flips nervously in her stomach. Did someone use magic and transport her inter-dimensionally somehow? Or did she do it? Fantastic. Maybe it's just a dream. She's hoping so about now.

Sighing, she sits there for a few minutes to gather her thoughts before getting up to look around for a place to get changed. This gown is doing nothing at all for her. It's about then that she notices the open journal by her feet. She picks it up and looks at it, not noticing - yet - that it's on and recording.]

So, uh... are there any permanently crazy people here?

Uh--yeah. Captain Jack Sparrow. Do yourself a favour and avoid him, alright?

Can do. I think I'd prefer hanging out with the less crazy, more normal, crowd... Sunnydale normal, anyway. You, me, Xander, Anya, Dawn...

[ Tara, when she's actually talking to Willow. ]

Well, there's me. And you, now. [A rather telling pause.] And Spike. But that's it for the Sunnydale crowd. There used to be more of us.

Spike's here, too? Guess it could be worse. Could be Drusilla. [ Or Angelus. Or annoying Harmony or something. ] Who else was here?

Drusilla. [She echoes, pulling a face.] And...Faith. Wesley. Angel--[she skips over him rather quickly.] Some girl from Angel's crew and Dawn. Dawn, just for a few weeks.

[ She makes a face at the mention of Drusilla... and again at Faith. But Dawn gets a sympathetic look and a gentle touch to Buffy's arm. ]

I... kind of wish I could have seen Dawnie here, but maybe it's better that she isn't here.

That's what I keep telling myself. About a lot of people, really. 'Cause--Will, you get attached. The people here, they're just so...personable. Most of them.

[ She understands that. ]

Like making friends at home, only different in the 'most people are our brand of normal' instead of 'normal brand of normal.'

[ Which could definitely hurt worse when they disappear. ]

You always make it through, though. [ And then she gets an idea. ] Hey, does your house have a kitchen? I could make cookies or pancakes for an introduction to my new housemates.

I would really so much rather to have you in the kitchen than me. So, count me as on board with this plan.

[A swing of her arms. It's good to see Willow.] It's not too far.

[ She grins in response. ] Cookies tonight and pancakes in the morning!

You know me, I'm good with the walkage. It's almost like patrolling again, except I only usually do it when something's really wrong in Sunnydale or you're hurt... [ frown. ] Though you being hurt counts as something super wrong in Sunnydale.

I'm sure the Doc'll appreciate someone else taking a stab at playing cafeteria lady for the house. The hair-net did nothing for him.

[ That gets a laugh. ]

A doctor with a hair-net? A-at least he doesn't have rat poison to put in the jello? I hope.

Luckily? He's not that grumpy.

Oh good... O-or else we'd have to take him out the hard way. All that physical power.

[ But this is all starting to remind her of the magic she can't use anymore, so her face falls a little and she goes silent for now. ]

[Having developed a good sense for reading Willow, she glances across at her.]

Problems? Y'know, beyond oh my god I've got wings?

[ Forcing a smile. ]

Just thinking about Sunnydale and all the completely magic-free ways I can get around here a-and planning breakfast in the morning. I'm fine. Completely fine. Nothing wrong here.

[ ... Yeah, right. ]

[Her brows crease.]

[ ...Willow just glances down. ]

I can't hurt anyone again.

Will--you don't. [Her face falls.] You don't have to be worried about that.

[ She looks back up to show Buffy just how torn apart she still is about all this. ]

But I hurt Dawn. I really screwed up and I don't want that to happen again.

That...that was a long time ago, Will. Old history. Practically ancient. The Greeks aren't even bothering to talk about it anymore. And you've done a lot of good, since.

[She is talking too fast; Buffy realizes the time difference between the two of them. She also realizes what fills that gap.]

[ Have a deep frown, Buffy. ]

...I don't want to lose control again. I can't.

[ And yet, her eyes really want to know if it's all okay in the end. ]

Willow, two years ago? You did the most amazing spell the world's ever seen. A real...game-changer. I mean it when I say you don't have to worry about it.

Okay... If you say so. [ Doesn't mean she's going to suddenly stop worrying. ]
